Parties with the beautiful people.
After weeks of trying, my persistence finally paid off and I bagged a ticket to this year's coveted Glamour Women of the Year Awards, organised by Timebased Events. Held in a temporary structure in Berkeley Square, it was the epitome of style, with orchid table-centres by Jamie Aston and a delicious menu by Inn or Out. So, while the likes of the Spice Girls and Lily Allen collected their awards, I set about writing up my recent party exploits.
The month kicked off with a pamper party at Spa at Chancery Court in Holborn to launch treatments inspired by singer-turned-designer Pearl Lowe. Next night, I was in Greenwich for the opening of the Peter Harrison Planetarium at the National Maritime Museum, where I enjoyed entertainment from Sternberg Clarke.
Eager to find out this year's winners, I attended the Club and Bar Awards at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel as a guest of Pure Consulting, where I drank bubbly and saw my friend Nick Valentine win Sexiest Club Host for Cuckoo.
Later that week, I visited Maya for a members' launch party, before heading over to No.1 Piazza for the premiere party of the Take That musical Never Forget, which was organised by the events team from The Hospital Club.
The following day I joined 20 influential industry members - including the Microsoft events manager - at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington for Event magazine's readers' lunch.
That evening I was one of 300 guests at the champagne launch party of venue Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire, where I tucked into food from the event space's preferred suppliers list.
Back in the capital, I nipped over to Covent Garden to see Diamond City Event's new space, St. Paul's Garden, before donning my boat shoes a few days later for the Event Supplier and Services Associaton's AGM after-party,which took place on board luxury cruiser Naticia.
The following evening I attended Beyond Certainty's summer party at Floridita, where I enjoyed entertainment from the Globe Girls.
Next night, I tottered over to The Bloomsbury Ballroom for a showcase event organised by Fisher, with catering from The Recipe, before taking a cab to the Sports Cafe for its relaunch party, where I mingled with celebrity guests Sir Trevor Brooking and Ray Clemence.
The month drawing to a close, I attended another showcase event at Sound in Leicester Square, where I was entertained by The Joe Leader Collective from Contraband Events.
I'm off for a few days now to recuperate in the Spanish sun. Asta la vista ...
