International Motor Industry Events, organiser of the British International Motor Show, has revealed this year's visitor figures are up 14% on the previous show.
Despite the current economic downturn, the event at Excel London attracted 472,300 visitors compared with 415,000 in 2006.
"The success of this year's Motor Show can be attributed not only to the quality of the global debuts and the support of such a fantastic collection of motor manufacturers, but also to the wide range of interactive attractions and family-friendly features," said Kirsty Perkinson, managing director of the show.
Preparations for the 2010 event are already underway. "The feedback we have had from exhibitors has been immensely positive, so we are confident the show will be even bigger and even better in two years' time," added Perkinson.
