Following electronic giant LG’s deal with the NEC Group (Event, August), Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has now granted full planning permission for the newly branded LG Arena to begin its £28m refurbishment programme.
The renamed event space will feature brand-new seats, toilets, restaurants and a VIP party deck.
"Our capacity will be increased by around 2,000, and the flexible seating and draping systems will provide more intimate theatre-style configurations," said NEC Group Arenas managing director Phil Mead.
